What do you value most in your friends? A good sense of humor. I appreciate the people in my life that make my stomach hurt from laughing too much. Friends should share jokes and not take things so seriously (although there is a time and place for that too). Life is to be enjoyed and what better way to do that than to chuckle about the good and the bad?
What is your greatest extravagance? After I graduated from High School I bought myself a Michael Kors watch to celebrate. It is probably one of the most expensive things I have ever bought for myself. I’ve been meaning to replace the battery as of late but still wear it because its so pretty. Who cares about functionality when its so sparkly, right?
Favorite holiday and why? I LOVE Christmas but Valentines Day is probably my favorite because you get to be all mushy & heart eyed & lovey dovey and its to be expected, and I don’t have to feel weird about it.
Pets? None currently, although I sure would like one! I’ll probably never have a dog (or any cute and furry thing) of my own. cries* My wonderful husband is allergic to pretty much all animals. I asked him once, “What if our future kids want a dog?” he replied, “I’ll tell them ‘Do you want Daddy to die?’” That ended that conversation. Haha. Who knows, maybe we’ll get an awesome pet fish one day.
Future goals? 1) Get my BSN, and possibly work in labor and delivery. Those nurses are so wonderful and pretty much like cheerleaders during labor. I feel like it could be a good fit.
2) Live close to family. They make life so much fun!
3) Buy a home. Paying rent is the pitts. I’d like to be actually investing my money rather than (what feels like) setting it on fire.
4) Have 2 kids, 3 at most. I want one boy and one girl ideally, but if that doesn’t happen i’d like to try one more time for a baby of the other gender (especially if we have boys first).
5) Learn French! It is such a beautiful language, and although I’ve taken a 101 course it’s not enough! I’d like to continue learning more of it.
Favorite foods? You know when you have a first love you just can’t seem to forget? Popcorn is mine. Derek is pretty cool about it actually. We even enjoy time with popcorn together. I also enjoy nearly all sugary things, namely candy.
Something you’re really talented at/hidden talent? I’m really good at walking on my hands. I could probably beat you at a handstand contest.
What are you most proud of? The summer before my senior year of high school I went to cheer camp and there was a tryout to determine best all around cheerleading skills, and those with the aforementioned skills were chosen to be on the “All American Team”. Out of over 500 cheerleaders from 41 different teams, 100 girls were hand picked to try out. Out of that group the 16 with the highest scores were chosen to be on the All American Team, and out of those 16, I received the highest score and was awarded with “Top All American”. It was such a rewarding moment for me because politics ruled our cheer team and often times it made me forget that I actually had talent. It was something I did entirely on my own and I felt like I proved myself.
If you were invisible for a day, what would you do? I would walk around naked everywhere. Clothes can be such a bother.
Pet peeves? When people say ya’ll. I’m from Washington and knew a lot of people that weren’t from the south that insisted on using it all the time. It drives me crazy.
